AnotherMenu
I can't
perform any operation or browse a folder when I open the Preferences
window.
When AnotherMenu's preferences window is open, the program
menu switches to the “Preferences Mode.” Once you have changed your
references and close the window, the program menu switches to the
normal mode.
The
Preferences window is covered by other windows, and I can't access it.
AnotherMenu does not have a normal interface like other
applications do, the preferences window may be covered if you switch to
another application while AnotherMenu's preferences window is open.
Clicking anywhere in the preferences window will bring it to the front.
If the preferences window is completely covered, select “Bring Window
to Front” item from AnotherMenu's program menu.
I can't
seem to select the calendar in the “Date and Time” menu item.
The menu item that displays the calendar is not selectable
because its purpose is just for displaying the calendar.
AnotherMenu's
memory usage jumps high sometimes.
The initial application memory AnotherMenu needs is around
12MB. The used memory may grow as you use the functionality, and the
memory used may grow as much as 30MB or more. This is normal since
AnotherMenu creates lots of menu objects, the memory usage gets higher
especially if you turn on the icon display option or navigate through
deep layers of sub folders. The extra memory used will be released by
the system at later time, or when AnotherMenu is idling. If you are
concerned about the memory size, you may turn off the icon display
option or enable only the menu functions you really need. By doing so,
AnotherMenu uses less memory and produces faster performance.
The “Ink”
preference pane never shows up in “System Preferences” app, why is that
preferences pane listed in AnotherMenu's “System Preferences” menu item?
AnotherMenu can not detect which individual preference pane
is loaded or not, therefore all of the preferences panes found on your
system will be listed. When you select a preference pane that is not
loaded, the System Preferences app opens with the first preference
pane.
Why does
the cursor change shape when I hit the space key during the screen
capture session?
When “Screen Capture” is engaged in either Selection or
Window mode, you can toggle between Selection or Window mode back and
forth with the space key.
Why can't
I command + drag AnotherMenu's icon to rearrange its order on the menu
bar?
AnotherMenu is not a menu extra, it is written by using public API and
classes provided by Apple. The methods we use lack a number of the
features of real menu extras - like being able to drag them around in
the menu bar to change the order while holding down the command key.
There are many shareware and freeware out there using this private API
that Apple does not support for 3rd party access. The method those
developers use is not officially supported by Apple and is not
guaranteed to work in future versions of the OS X because Apple may
remove this private API at any time. Due the future compatibility
issues and Apple's development guidelines, we elected to use the public
API and classes to implement this software.
I have
been evaluating AnotherMenu for more than 30 days, but now only one
system level function menu item appears in the main menu.
AnotherMenu will keep working if you
continue using it after 30 days of evaluation period without the
registration, however only the first system level function and the
first custom item are enabled.
ClickCopy X
I have
been copying and pasting lots of files using ClickCopy X's own Copy and
Paste commands, and my Finder's responsiveness seems to slow down.
When you use ClickCopy X's internal copy buffer and lots of
file objects have been copied, and if you notice the Finder's
contextual menu has been popped up slower than before, you can clear
out the memory ClickCopy X uses by selecting ClickCopy X contextual
menu's “Clear” command.
When
I enable “Use objects from Finder's clipboard” option, the time it
takes to display Finder's contextual menu seems to be longer.
This is because ClickCopy X needs to access Finder's
clipboard and extract file object information everytime a contextual
menu is being invoked.
The
“Move” and “Move Into” commands do not list in the contextual menu
sometimes, even thought I enable them in the preferences.
The “Move” and “Move Into’ operations only work for file
objects within the same volume (drive/disk). The “Direct Move Into”
command will always be avaialble once you enable the option, however an
error beep will occur if you try to move a file object to a different
volume.
When
I enable “Use objects from Finder's clipboard” option, the time it
takes to display Finder's contextual menu seems to be longer.
This is because ClickCopy X needs to access Finder's
clipboard and extract file object information everytime a contextual
menu is being invoked.
I
got the “No Write Permission” when I bring up ClickCopy X's contextual
menu.
It means either you really don't have permission to “write”
data to the folder or the contextual menu is not initiated correctly
when you control + click a folder. If later one is the case, control +
click the folder again should correct the issue.
I
copy bunch of files across several sub-folders in a folder “xxx”, then
I try to paste one of the files “into” one of the folders in “xxx”. In
the case, the “Move Into” command is not available.
You can't “move into” a folder which the folder is one of the
objects that you have copied..
When
I select “Settings…” menu item from the contextual menu, I got an error
saying the application cannot be found.
By default the “ClickCopy X” application is located in
“DragonOne” folder in your system's “Applications” folder. You may move
the app to other locations but ClickCopy X's “Settings...” menu command
will not recognize the new app location.
