About
AnotherMenu
AnotherMenu
is a utility software designed for Mac OS X that simplifies and
enhances many system level and folder navigation operations. The
functionality AnotherMenu provided is accessed through a global system
menu or an optional floating menu palette. Some of AnotherMenu's
functions are similar to OS X's built-in or other excellent
shareware/freeware menu extras, however using AnotherMenu is a great
way to minimize the menu bar clutter by replacing some of those
separate menu extras.
The
operations AnotherMenu provides include:
System
Level Functions:
- System Preference
Open individual System Preference Pane directly.
- Running Applications
Lists running applications and allows you to switch between them, with
or without Classic OS 9 applications.
- Eject
Eject removable media (CD, DVD, iPod, etc.) and optionally unmount
network volumes, similar to DragonOne's “EjectMenu” for Mac OS 9.
- Burner Tray
Open and close the tray door of your internal and external CD/DVD
burners, and optionally eject the media in the burner if a media is
presented.
- Volumes
Browse the contents of all mounted volumes.
- Classic Environment
Start or stop the Classic OS 9 environment.
- Switch User
Similar to OS X's built-in Fast User Switching function.
- IP Address
Displays LAN or WAN IP Address.
- Date and Time
Displays current date, time, and a simple calendar.
- Playlist
Control your iTunes playback.
- Script
Easy access to the AppleScript files located in both user and library
script folders.
- Finder Windows
Control Finder's open windows without Finder's being the foreground
process, similar to DragonOne's “QuickWindow” for Mac OS 9.
- Screen Capture
Simple and flexible screen capture with many options.
- Stock Quotes
Displays stock quotes for the US market.
- Recent Applications (for Mac OS X 10.3)
Same as OS X's built-in function, but with application file validation.
- Recent Documents (for Mac OS X 10.3)
Same as OS X's built-in function, but with document file validation.

PowerPC and Intel based machines.
